So, my mom scanned a picture of our little guy last night, but we saved it in the wrong format, so I'll try to get it up later today or something.
I've been thinking about this little guy an awful lot the past couple of days. Now that we know that he's a boy, it seems so much more real. When he's cruising around in there, I can almost see him. We're still working on names, so suggestions are welcome :) I bought curtains for his room yesterday and I'm hoping to start cutting his quilt out this weekend, too.
So, Matt is having the week of his life. Not only did he find out that we're having a boy, he's spending the weekend up at NHIS (the New Hampshire International Speedway) for the NASCAR race. One of the ladies that I work with also works up there, and she needed people to work security on the infield this weekend. So, I volunteered Matt and he's up there with a couple of our friends today and tomorrow. He sent me a text message this morning that he had been stationed at the entrance to pit row, and that the cup cars were driving right past him for practice. I guess that he's having fun. The weather is really nice today too, so he shouldn't get too hot. I hope that it goes well for him--Happy Anniversary, Babe!

The Verdict is in!
Well, for those of you who have been waiting, like we have, the verdict is in on what kind of baby we're having:
IT'S A BOY!
Matt came to the ultrasound with me this morning (I'll get a picture up as soon as I can) and within 15 seconds the tech could tell that we had a little guy. Apparently he's not terribly modest :) So, we got to watch him cruise around in there and make measurements difficult for the tech. What a sweet little baby. We could see him open and close his mouth, move his arms around, make little baby fists, and count little baby toes. He seems to be growing absolutely normally (I guess he weighs about 10 oz now) and everything seems fine!
I'll post more once I get the picture in here...I'm going to go play Wii with Max while we wait to go see Jackie's sister Michayla be Sandra Dee in the Palace's production of Grease tonight. Break a leg, Michayla!

Congratulations!
I just want to put a big CONGRATULATIONS out there to my little brother, Max, and his FIANCEE, Miss Jackie!
They told us when they came home this summer that they'd been talking about getting engaged. Then they picked out a ring, and yesterday it became official! I think that it's even more fun since yesterday was also my parents' 37th wedding anniversary--congratulations to you two also! Here's to another 37 :)
I've got to say that I'm so excited and happy for Max and Jackie. Jackie is wonderful, and I'm so happy that we get to keep her! She fits well with the silliness that is often my family. They're planning on getting married after they graduate in 2009, so they'll have plenty of time to plan a lovely wedding before Max heads off to medical school.
We're all planning on going to the beach tomorrow, so maybe I'll get a picture of the happy couple (and the gorgeous ring).

School's Out!
So, I'm finally done. On to the next stuff.
Matt got home last night from the annual Father's Day fishing weekend. This year there was a whole crowd (Matt, his dad, my dad, Max, my cousin Nathan, and his son) that went up north and got eaten alive by the assorted bugs up there. I guess that they had an amazing time and are excited for next year.
Now that I'm out of school, I've got more time to focus on other things (hmmm, anything in particular?). I'm hoping to buy fabric this week for the quilt that I'd like to make for the baby. It dawned on me last week that my sewing room is turning into the baby's room, so I've got to get sewing so that I can redo that room--I know I'm a little slow on these things. I've got to write, organize, and eventually teach a course down in Mass (a kitchen chemistry campy thing for a week in July and again, maybe, in August). Then, Matt and I are Chicago and westerly bound around the middle of July, so it'll be a busy summer...they all seem to be that way.
What happens to be most on my mind, though, is that a week from tomorrow (the 27th) we will hopefully know what kind of baby we're having! I'm surprisingly anxious about this. I really do just want a healthy little person, but it's exciting to hopefully know what kind of baby I'm feeling cruising around in there. I know, too, that sometimes they can't tell, and sometimes they're wrong, so we've got our fingers crossed that it all works out. I'm getting more used to my growing belly, too. So, if you're interested, tune in next week for girl/boy news!

School and Baby
6 days left. Next week we've got regular classes M-W, then exams Thursday and Friday, and the next Monday is our check-out day. Of course there's awards nights and graduation included in there, but it'll go by quickly. I'm looking forward to eliminating this stress from my life right now, but I do enjoy my job and usually miss it and the people that I work with over the summer. There is definately a reason that teachers don't do the school thing over the summer...we need the break. Although, I am finding myself teaching for 2 weeks at Middlesex Community College in this summer camp program for kids who's parents want them to learn something over the summer. By the time that it gets here, I should have a moderately functional course planned (I hope).
In other news, I'm starting to feel some kind-of regular movement of a very small person. It's a fascinating feeling, and I'm kind of looking forward to more forceful activity. I'm finishing my 17th week now, which means that I'm almost half way done! I can't believe that...it's gone by so quickly. Hopefully once school gets over, I'll be able to work on baby stuff that needs to get done. We've got some ideas for a nursery, and I want to make a quilt. Since the nursery will be in my sewing room, I sort of feel like the quilt needs to get done before the nursery can take shape. A good thing, though, will be that the baby won't actually be in there for a little while after it's born...we'll keep it in our bedroom for some time, giving us a little more leeway on the room. We've just got a lot of junk that needs to be displaced. We'll figure it out, I'm sure. We always do.
Well, enjoy your weekends. If you haven't seen the third Pirates movie--I highly reccomend it!
