Bandwagon!

So, I've decided to jump on the bandwagon and start a blog. We'll see how this goes. I must say that I've got great intentions to post regularly to try to keep all of our friends and family across the country moderately "in touch" with our humble lives out here. I read others' blogs, so maybe you'll enjoy this one.

It seems that as our lives change, there are so many people that we think of that we can't be near. This whole electronic thing will hopefully be a way for those people to stay a little closer to us and our bizarre lives. Matt is so much better at communicating with our far-away-friends than I am (only one of the many things that he does better than me...), so this will be my effort to keep in touch with all of you out there that I don't write to or call nearly as often as I think of you.

So, with that in mind: if I haven't had a chance to tell you this little bit personally, I sincerely apologize, but Matt and I are pregnant. If all goes well, we will be expecting our new little one in the middle of November. We appreciate and welcome all prayers and crossed fingers. I am a little over 8 weeks along, now, so I know that I'm still moderately vulnerable to a miscarriage. I am so grateful for every day that goes by that is uneventful, and as uncomfortable as I am, with the nausea, exhaustion, and other "growing pains," I am so happy to be able to be going through this.

The spectrum of emotions is pretty intense also. It's kind of difficult to tell what comes from my hormones re-adjusting to my changing body, and what is me starting to conceptualize how our lives will be changing. First and foremost, I am so happy to be able to share this whole thing with Matt. As goofy as he is sometimes (well, lots of the time), I love him dearly and trust him implicitly. He's going to be a great dad, and I have a feeling that I'm going to love watching him grow into this position as much as I'm going to love watching Baby grow to be part of our lives. I can't imagine doing this without him, and I'm really happy that we can do this together. I'm sure that it won't be easy, but we can do it. We've got amazing role models in our parents and other friends and family who have walked this road ahead of us, and I know that there will be people to help and guide us along the way.

So, join the ride with us! We'll see where this goes, and we'll see you along the way :)

  1. Congrats! Look forward to reading! You'll have to figure out a way to post pictures of ultrasounds, and what not.
